What's On User Guide
Overview
What's On is the public upcoming-openings index at /whats-on. It lists openings that are live now and openings that are scheduled for the future, so visitors can see at a glance what is on and what is coming up. Where an opening accepts attendance, visitors can RSVP directly from the listing. It is a public surface, so anyone can browse it without signing in. Open it at /whats-on.
What it does
What's On gives the public a single place to find current and upcoming openings:
- It provides a public index of openings at /whats-on, viewable by anyone.
- It shows live openings that are open now alongside scheduled openings set for a future date.
- It lets visitors RSVP to an opening that accepts attendance, registering their intention to attend.
- It presents openings in an easy-to-scan list so visitors can plan a visit around what is on.
- It keeps the public informed of activity without requiring an account or any internal access.
The aim is visibility: a friendly front door to current and forthcoming openings for the general public.
How to use it
- Open /whats-on (for example
https://your-site.example/whats-on). - Browse the list to see live openings that are on now and scheduled openings coming up.
- Select an opening to see its details, including when it is on.
- If the opening accepts attendance, use the RSVP option to register your intention to attend.
- Check back to see new openings as they are scheduled and to find what is currently live.
Good to know
- What's On is a public page - no account is needed to browse it or to RSVP where RSVP is offered.
- The index combines what is live now with what is scheduled, so it doubles as both a "what's on today" view and a "what's coming" planner.
- RSVP is available on openings that accept attendance; not every listing will offer it.
- Listings reflect what the operator has chosen to publish, so the page stays current as openings are added, go live, and pass.
- This is the visitor-facing surface; the behind-the-scenes setup of openings is handled by staff in the relevant admin area.
